An avid knitter, I live in South Australia and am new to spinning from the fleece. I soaked Corriedale wool which is very greasy and waxy, both white and brown/black fleeces for 7 days. The Corriedale dirty tips still remained stuck together with the white wool, so for the next batch I combed the ends and added "Wool mix" which is a product sold here in Australia. The suint was removed. The wool retained the lanolin and came out smelling lovely with the wool mix, lovely and soft after 3 rinses in cold rainwater. The white and brown/black Corriedale had a lovely sheen to it. My "nobless" ancestors the Pelissier family were from Castres, France. So you writing in French is helping me to improve my French. Many thanks again for sharing your information about wool.
